A Series of Regional Partners’ Dialogues

SEEDFINANCE is five years old this year! Since its incorporation in April 2007, the corporation steadily grew and achieved new hallmarks. Its Partner Financial Institutions (PFIs) have always been at the forefront of that success. Just like in the past years, SEEDFINANCE again held this year’s series of Regional Dialogues with its partner-MFIs from Luzon all the way to Visayas and Mindanao in the months of May and June 2012. This is a preparatory stage for the conduct of National Stakeholders Conference 2012, which will be scheduled in the latter part of the year.

The series of dialogues in May and June of this year highlighted governance issues and current financial performance of SEEDFINANCE. It also provided an avenue for the PFIs in exploring various business opportunities through the participation of service providers.

SEEDFINANCE Chairperson and the management led the discussions of governance and democratized ownership aspects of the company; the macro perspective and strategic direction of operations; current financial standings; latest activities in the field; and the present initiative on product development. The open forum sessions accommodated PFIs’ concerns, comments, suggestions and inquiries in a transparent and professional fashion.

A number of strategic partners (service providers) have supported and attended the regional dialogues to present new business opportunities for the PFIs.

• SMART-D Lucky3 for in-house loading system
• IXBase on systems facilities
• Social Security System (SSS) for the authorization of cooperatives in collective their members’ contribution
• Clean Engines Inc. on its environmentally-friendly retrofit kits for motorcycles
• LIMACOR on a unique water filter product.

The success of these dialogues inspired SEEDFINANCE and its PFIs in collaborating once again for a more explosive National Stakeholders’ Conference this 2012, which is tentatively set on November and to be held probably in Palawan. Another gathering making microfinance matter in the Philippines!
